Questions drivers ask us
Am I an employee?
No. Contract company drivers and owner-operators work with Atlas as independent contractors and get a 1099. You're paid by weekly settlement, not a salary.
What comes out of my settlement?
Contract drivers: an escrow of $160 a week until it reaches $4,000, returned within 90 days after you leave with an itemized statement, and occupational accident insurance at your cost. Owner-operators: every deduction is spelled out in your lease before you sign.
When do I get paid?
Every Friday, by weekly settlement.
What freight will I haul?
Drayage and intermodal containers, dry van, flatbed and reefer. Local, regional and over the road, anywhere in the country.
Do I need a TWIC card or endorsements?
A TWIC card is only needed for certain loads. Hazmat or tanker endorsements are a plus, not a requirement.
How fast will I hear back?
By the next business day. If you don't want to wait, call, text or WhatsApp 773-859-2460.
